Day 2: US Mint and Liberty Bell

The United States Mint was established under the Coinage Age in 1792 when Philadelphia was the nation's capital under President George Washington.  Men and horses worked 11-hour days manually creating the nation's numismatic products.  It was tough work, but it allowed us control over our own legal tender rather than using a mishmash of foreign currency or relying on European mints.

No photos were allowed inside so I didn't get to capture the fascinating manufacturing process but I was able to snap this shot of the boys being less than cooperative outside the building:

Then we meandered on over to the Liberty Bell.  They weren't so cooperative for photos there either!

It was raining pretty hard so we just went back to the hotel and enjoyed the indoor pool.  Apparently it takes a warm spa before they'll work with me!
