Posting timeline

I'd better post these pumpkin photos from last month's Discovery Cube trip before Halloween passes!

Children's Book Festival

It's an amazing event...and I got exactly 3 photos, none of which would indicate our attendance at function in any way.  Well, maybe the dessert crepe is marginally indicative.  Because nothing says, "We love reading," like dessert crepe.

ETA: Dang!  I have veiny, old-lady hands!

Who needs Halloween?

The boys are willing to adopt new identities on a daily basis.

He thinks he can read.

He can't.  But I haven't informed him of that minor fact yet.

(N)ice skating

What a fun and fabulous sport!  And you know what I find especially nice?  It's cooooold!  (How can I, someone who is built for the tropics, function so poorly in the heat?)

A1 is really naturally inclined toward the activity.

And A2....well, let's just say he's enjoying himself.

The practice of solitude

A2 is learning how to be by himself (and yes, I realize that if I'm there to snap his pic, he's not exactly alone!) while A1 is in school.

But it's a well-known fact that he prefers his big brother's presence.

A place for everything...

and everything in its place.  At least, that was the way it used to be back in the day when each play dough color had its own jar.

And then I had kids.

This town ain't big enough

A1 and I have showdowns for SLR time.  He likes to grab my big camera (even though he has his own point-and-shoot!) and snap away.  I've been trying to teach him some composition basics and he's actually really enjoying it.

Oh my goodness, how I dislike my own photo, but because these were composed by my firstborn, I will suppress the cringe long enough to post:

"Don't do anything fun without me!"

...so lamented poor A1 when he saw these images of A2 at the pumpkin patch during Kindergarten hours.  Because, you know, I'm not plagued by enough guilt as it is.

It's getting ridiculous

Okay, I was really excited about the upsurge of A2 photos to make up for the early losses, but it's becoming pretty ridiculous how Kindergarten has hindered A1's photo ops.

Garlic knots

I tried to make garlic knots for the first time.  They were less than a complete success.

Fortunately, quality time spent with the boys is ALWAYS a complete success.
