Mojave National Preserve

Phew! This is the last of the vacay picture posts!

There are no roadside stops and no services in the preserve, so we didn't get to stop in front of the really neat rock structures. A repeat trip to the Mojave is definitely called for!

He succeeded!

Somebody can stand the heat! I'm with A2 and the water sprayer.

Nice branding of these photos with this blog.

I started seeing watermarks on everybody else's blogs. And I bandwagon-jumped. I'm like that.

Heh heh...well, you are a photographer and I think anything you do could be done with protection.

Technically, it's all copyrighted even w/o my mentioning it, plus I don't block the view--I like to place the watermark on the borders so it's out of the way so it could easily be cropped off. Mostly it feels like signing a work. And they're all my work. Even random photos of the boys the ones I chose among many and work up--a little dodging here, a little burning there and it's suddenly a very personal expression. (And no, I still don't call myself an artist.)

Hm, now I'm wondering if I should start doing that.

I have collectors and friends who periodically show me one of my images on their phone or something. I don't mind, but there's a part of me that's like, "If I had a watermark/URL, people could find who did that painting!"

Yeah, if it's on the interweb, it will be stolen. I consider it free advertising. That's why when you click on my photos, it doesn't enlarge. You can't do much with it, you know?

Plus, you spend so much time and energy to photograph your art accurately, not to mention the endless time and energy to create it in the first place. I like claiming the work in the way.

Yeah. My photos on my blog don't enlarge either, they take you somewhere (store, etc.).

Seriously, Luci, do you ever have days when you're so very conscious of how lucky you are NOT to have girls? I LOVE the trouble boys get into--and wouldn't know what to do with a little girl!
