Joshua Tree National Park

DSC_4280

It was hot,

so hot the asphalt was melty.

The boys had a blast hanging on the rocks.

But it's still a hot desert,

so hot the boy was melty.

Fortunately hotel pools remedy this quickly.

Deserts can be so beautiful...with A/C and pools! (I should've kept the A/C on instead of freaking about it on that road trip we took!)

Eh. It's a dry heat. You get used to it quickly. Though we did have the A/C on, it was actually quite minimal.

I always think of Aliens when I hear "but it's a dry heat!"

I've seen Aliens but of course I have no idea what you're talking about because I only retain vague recollections of films.

From http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090605/quotes

Frost: Hot as hell in here.
Hudson: Yeah man, but it's a dry heat!

(Hudson is played by Bill Paxton and he's the one that keeps freaking out and losing his cool.)

Hahaha!! Losing his "cool", but it's *dry heat*.
