
Not a great view of his head, but here he is at 18 months.


And here he is just last week at 19 months.


They change in the blink of an eye at this age, don't they? I know that if I were working, I would miss so many precious moments, but sometimes I think I miss a great many moments anyhow because I don't stop to look. We're always running, running, running.
A2 is napping now. I think I'll close my laptop so I can stare at him until I get my fill.

I think that missing the moments is what allows us to perceive change in a way that's meaningful; it's like the frog in the pot being slowly brought to boil, or the idea that a watched pot never boils. The silence between the notes gives us music.
